RViz in your browser
Look at any robot description. Pick a robot, open your own URDF or xacro (with its meshes), or connect to ROS 2 on your Ubuntu computer and see your real robot_state_publisher, TF, markers and scans.
1. A robot from the gallery
2. Your own files
A .urdf or .urdf.xacro file, or a whole package folder with its urdf/ and meshes/ (STL, DAE, OBJ). Nothing is uploaded: the files stay on your computer.
3. Connect to ROS 2 (rosbridge)
On Ubuntu: sudo apt install ros-jazzy-rosbridge-suite, then ros2 launch rosbridge_server rosbridge_websocket_launch.xml. Open this page on the same computer.
How it works, and its limits
This is ROS2Lab's practice RViz2, built with three.js. It reads URDF and xacro the same way ROS does, and copies RViz2's displays, properties, tools and messages, so the same steps work with the real rviz2 on Ubuntu. It is not the real rviz2 program.
When connected, it subscribes through rosbridge to /robot_description, /tf, /tf_static, /visualization_marker, /visualization_marker_array, /scan and /map, and the RViz tools publish /goal_pose, /initialpose and /clicked_point. Browsers only allow a secure page to talk to rosbridge on the same computer (localhost); Chrome may ask you to allow access to apps on this device. For a robot on the network, run this page on the robot's computer or forward the port with ssh -L 9090:localhost:9090 user@robot.
